Cam Thuy project

In August 2009 GEOMIN company had signed Memorandum of Understanding with Department of Geology and Minerals of Vietnam, working under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment for geochemical exploration of Cam Thuy area in Thanh Hoa province. Area is favorable for base matals, antimony and gold. In regard of awaited amendment of Mining law next activities have been freezed.

AID FOR TRADE

In days 20th – 29th October GEOMIN company organized in cooperation with other companies (DIAMO state enterprise, ALTA Ltd.) in the frame of programme Aid for trade funded by Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Czech Republic visit of nine specialists from Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. Workshop was aimed at presentation of complete „uranium cycle“ – prospecting, exploitation and its effects mitigation, ore treatment, using in nuclear energetics including disposal of radioactive wastes and legislation frame.

In the course of workshop participants completed a number of lectures and among others they have been acquainted with uranium mining in Rožná mine (going down to the depth 1050 m), with reclaimed lands after maining, with operation of nuclear power plants Temelín and Dukovany, depository and repository of spent fuel and they also visited Radioactive Waste Repository Authority, State Office for Nuclear Safety and Ministry of Trade and Industry. As suggestion for the workshop realization was actual problematic energetic situation in Vietnam, which should be solved by Vietnamese governement with help of nuclear plants construction.

Geological symposium

Representatives of GEOMIN company and Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Czech Republic participated upon invitation of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in Geological symposium and in celebration of 65 years of foundation of Department of Geoplogy and Minerals of Vietnam, held in days from 1th till 3th October.
